Amber Dune Hotel + Spa Receives Award
April 5, 2011 (Cabarete, Dominican Republic) – Amber Dune Resort + Spa, www.amber-dune.com, located on the Dominican Republic’s North Shore, today announced that the Ministry of Tourism presented it with an award of recognition, for its compliance with national protocol and sustainability requirements.
The award was presented by Francisco Javier Garcia, the Minister of Tourism and Maribel Villalona, the Director of Planning for the Ministry. Villalona is responsible for the government’s aggressive initiative to redevelop the North Shore of the country. In addition to this honor, the Ministry categorized it as a tourism project that is of great significance to the Northern region and to the Cabarete area in particular. The event was held on Wednesday, March 16th, at the Ministry’s new headquarters.

Dominican Republic Surfing Vacation

With the Masters Surf Reunion less than a month away, we couldn’t resist sharing this article with you! It was recently posted on a blog site (Philippine Islands Travel Bog) and gave positive reviews of Cabarete and its “friendly people.”
The article mentions the great winds and beautiful beaches for which the Dominican Republic and especially Cabarete are renown. It also talks about how perfectly priced the “all-inclusives” are. While that may be the vacation “package” some surfers desire, Amber Dune will take the whole surf vacation to an entirely new and exclusive level in 2012. We hope you’ll join us!

Contemporary artist from Santiago de los Caballeros, Republica Dominicana paints a modern and interpretative representation of authentic life on the island.
